Starbucks baristas across the country have done an incredible job organizing at more than 640 stores across the country—fighting for higher pay and better hours and staffing for more than 12,000 workers and counting.
These union baristas are making big news: With Starbucks’ busy holiday “red cup” season approaching, they’ve voted to authorize a strike this week at corporate stores unless the company stops its union-busting and finalizes fair contracts.
The AFL-CIO and our nearly 15 million members stand in solidarity with Starbucks Workers United. Please sign Starbucks baristas’ solidarity pledge in support of the strike at their corporate stores

As we participate in any form of protest, rally, action, or event, it’s important to know our rights.
The National AFL-CIO sent out the following from the ACLU: KNOW YOUR RIGHTS:
"The First Amendment protects your right to assemble and express your views through protest. However, police and other government officials are allowed to place certain narrow restrictions on the exercise of speech rights. Make sure you’re prepared by brushing up on your rights before heading out into the streets.”
